Semi-Automatic Temperature Control: Description

Semi-Automatic Temperature Control (SATC) is available on all rear wheel drive models. With this system, driver selects temperature, operation mode, and blower speed. The system automatically maintains the desired temperature by heating or cooling the airflow.

System is basically the same as Chrysler Corp. manual A/C systems, with additional components added to perform automatic temperature control. Vacuum operated models use an ambient compensator, bi-metal sensor, vacuum servo actuator, aspirator, in-car inlet grill, and vacuum reservoir. On models with electronic control, a unique control head assembly rheostat, ambient sensor, aspirator, air drive tube, in-car sensor and servo-motor are used.
