Repair Procedures: Installation

CAUTION: Replace the circlip with new ones after removal.
  1. Apply gear oil on the drive shaft splines (A) and the contacting surface of differential case oil seal (B).

  2. After installation, check if the drive shaft cannot be removed.

    [RH] 

    1. Install the inner shaft bracket mounting bolt (A).

      Tightening Torque: 

      50 ~ 65N.m (5 ~ 6.5kgf.m, 36 ~ 47lb-ft)

    2. Install the inner shaft cover (A) by installing the cover mounting bolts (B).

      Tightening Torque: 

      9 ~ 14N.m (0.9 ~ 1.4kgf.m, 6.5 ~ 10lb-ft)

    3. Install the fork (A) to the front strut assembly (B).

      Tightening Torque: 

      60 ~ 80N.m (6 ~ 8kgf.m, 44 ~ 59lb-ft)

    4. Install the connecting bolt between the fork (A) and the lower arm.

      Tightening Torque: 

      140 ~ 160N.m (14 ~ 16kgf.m, 101 ~ 118lb-ft)

    5. Install the stabilizer link (A) to the fork (B).

    Tightening Torque: 

    100 ~ 120N.m (10 ~ 12kgf.m, 74 ~ 88lb-ft)

  3. Install the drive shaft (A) into the front axle assembly (B).
    CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the boot.

  4. Install the knuckle in the lower arm assembly and tighten the bolts (A).

    Tightening Torque: 

    100 ~ 120N.m (10 ~ 12kgf.m, 74 ~ 88lb-ft)

  5. Install the tie rod end (A) in the knuckle.

    Tightening Torque: 

    24 ~ 34N.m (2.4 ~ 3.4kgf.m, 18 ~ 25lb-ft)

  6. Install the wheel speed sensor in the knuckle.

  7. Install the brake hose bracket (A) to the front knuckle.

  8. After installing the washer (B) with convex surface outward, install the lock nut (A) and the spilt pin (C).

    Tightening Torque: 

    200~280N.m (20~28kgf.m, 148~207lb-ft)

  9. Install the wheel & tire assembly.
