Windows - Description & Operation: Description: General
All models feature electrically operated windows on the side doors and the tail door.
The side door windows are controlled by a window lift ECU and window switches. Up to 2004 model year, the window switches are located in the centre console and, on 5 door models, also in the rear door trim casings. From 2004 model year, only 3 door models have the window switches in the centre console; on 5 door models all of the window switches are in the door trim casings. 5 door models also incorporate an isolator switch for the rear side door windows. Up to 2004 model year, the isolator switch is located in the centre console; from 2004 model year, the isolator switch is located in the driver door switchpack.
The tail door window is controlled by the Central Control Unit (CCU), a rocker switch, the remote handset and the tail door handle and lock. The rocker switch for the tail door window is located on the fascia (up to 2004 model year) or the centre console (from 2004 model year). The CCU also uses inputs from the rear screen wiper system and, on 3 door models, a roof switch, to inhibit window operation while the rear screen wiper is operating or the roof is open (soft back) or removed (hard back).
