Fuel Gauge Simple Test
Raise vehicle and disconnect wiring connector at fuel gauge sending unit. Connect a 12-volt, 3.4-watt test light to fuel sender terminal No. 2 and ground. See Fig 1 . Turn ignition switch to ON position. Ensure test light flashes and fuel gauge indicator moves toward "F" position. If test light does not flash and fuel gauge indicator does not move, check wiring harness and repair as necessary.
