Code 55

NOTE: Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . After repairs are complete, check AIR BAG warning light to verify system is functioning correctly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .

If Code 55 exists, a side air bag module has been deployed. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Replace appropriate front seat assembly with side impact air bag module, side impact air bag sensor and air bag control module. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Reconnect system components and activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Clear air bag system codes. See CLEARING CODES under DIAGNOSTICS. Check for normal air bag system operation. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
