Shift Control Cable

  1. Start engine. Shift to Reverse. Ensure transaxle engages in Reverse. With engine off, remove the console.
    CAUTION: Legend vehicles are equipped with Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). Disconnect negative and positive battery cables before removing console. All SRS wiring has a Yellow  cover.
  2. Shift gear selector into the Drive (Reverse on Legend). Remove lock pin from cable adjuster. Ensure that hole in adjuster is perfectly aligned with hole in shift cable.
  3. The 2 holes in the end of the shift cable are positioned to allow cable adjustments in 1/4 turn increments.
  4. Loosen lock nut on shift cable and adjust as required. Tighten lock nut. Install lock pin on adjuster.
  5. Lock pin should not bind as it is installed. Start engine and check shift lever in all gears.
