Grid Filament Repair
NOTE:
For repair to be effective, broken section must not be longer than one inch (25 mm).
- Rub area around break using fine steel wool, and then clean using alcohol. Carefully mask area above and below broken portion using masking tape. See Fig 1 .
- Mix repair compound thoroughly. Using small brush, apply heavy coat of repair compound extending 1/8 inch (3 mm) on both sides of break. Allow 30 minutes to dry.
- Check for proper operation. See GRID FILAMENT TEST under TESTING. Apply second coat of repair compound. Allow 3 hours to dry. Remove tape.
