Piston & Rod Assembly
- Each rod is sorted into one of 4 tolerance ranges. Size depends on crank journal bore. Number from 1 to 4 is stamped on side of rod big end. Any combination of numbers from 1 to 4 may be found on any engine.NOTE: Reference numbers are for big end bore code and do not indicate rod position in engine.
- Nominal connecting rod big bore size is 1.89" (48.0 mm). Install piston and connecting rod so arrow on top of piston is toward timing belt and connecting rod oil hole is toward intake manifold. See Fig 1 .
NOTE:
All replacement piston pins are oversize.
