Thrust Bearing

  1. Measure crankshaft end play using a dial indicator. If end play exceeds specification, inspect thrust washers and thrust surface of crankshaft. See CRANKSHAFT, MAIN & CONNECTING ROD BEARINGS table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. Replace worn parts as necessary. Thrust washer thickness is fixed. DO NOT change thrust washer thickness by grinding or shimming. Install thrust washers with grooved side out.
