Trouble Shooting: Notes

CAUTION: Legend is equipped with Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). SRS wiring harness is routed close to instrument cluster, steering wheel and related components. All SRS wiring harnesses are covered by Yellow outer insulation. DO NOT use electrical test equipment on these circuits. Before working on anti-theft components, disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.

WARNING: Wait about 3 minutes after disabling air bag system. Back-up power circuit, capacitor internal to SRS module, maintains system voltage for about 3 minutes after battery is disconnected. Servicing air bag system before 3 minutes may cause accidental air bag deployment and possible personal injury.

NOTE: Radio/cassette or radio/CD player contains an anti-theft protection circuit. Whenever battery is disconnected, radio will go into anti-theft mode. When battery is reconnected, radio will display CODE and will be inoperative until proper code number is entered by vehicle owner.

NOTE: Different wires with the same color have been given a suffix number. For example, Yellow/Green(1) and Yellow/Green(2) are not the same wires. For wire and terminal identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
