Linear Solenoid
- Linear solenoid is located on throttle valve body. Disconnect transaxle sub-harness connector. See Figure .
- Using ohmmeter, check resistance between terminal No. 7 and terminal No. 8. See Fig 1 .
- Resistance should be 5.0-5.6 ohms at 70°F (20°C). If resistance is not within specification, disconnect linear solenoid connector from transaxle sub-harness at the transaxle. Note terminal identification on linear solenoid connector.
- Using ohmmeter, check resistance between terminal "C" and terminal "D" of linear solenoid connector.
- Resistance should be 5.0-5.6 ohms at 70°F (20°C). If resistance is okay, replace transaxle sub-harness. Replace linear solenoid if resistance is not within specification.
- Check linear solenoid operation. Apply positive battery terminal to terminal "C" and negative battery terminal to terminal "D" of linear solenoid connector.
- Clicking sound should be heard, indicating linear solenoid operation. Replace linear solenoid if it fails to operate.
NOTE:
Linear solenoid and throttle valve body must be replaced as an assembly.
