A/T Gear Position Indicator

NOTE: If necessary, refer to wiring schematic when checking component wiring. See Fig 4 .
  1. Remove instrument panel gauge assembly from instrument panel. Disconnect 22-pin electrical connector from rear of instrument panel gauge assembly. See Fig 1 .
  2. Check for voltage and continuity at electrical connectors as specified. See Fig 2 . If necessary to check ground connections, G301, G302, G303 or G501, See Fig 3 . Ground connection G301 is located behind driver's side kick panel area. Ground connection G302 is located on passenger's side front strut tower. Ground connection G303 is located behind passenger's side kick panel area. Ground connection G501 is located at center console area, just below the stereo.
  3. If necessary to check No. 13 fuse (7.5-amp), fuse is located in fuse-relay box, located behind kick panel on driver's side. If necessary to access PCM, PCM is located below the carpet on passenger's side of instrument panel. See Figure .
  4. If necessary to access the A/T gear position switch, A/T gear position switch is mounted on the driver's side of shift lever. See Figure .
