Charging System Light Does Not Come On

  1. Turn off ignition. Check fuse No. 2 (15A) in dash fuse box. See Fig 1 .Replace fuse if blown. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect 4-P connector from alternator. See Figure .Turn on ignition, with engine off.
  3. Check for voltage at BLK/YEL wire at the IG terminal of the 4-P connector.
  4. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in BLK/YEL wire. If battery voltage is present, ground WHT/BLU wire at L terminal of the 4-P connector. Go to next step.
  5. If charging system light comes on, replace voltage regulator. If charging system light does not come on, check for blown charging system light bulb. If bulb is okay, repair open in WHT/BLU wire.
