Cruise Control Cannot Be Set
- Test main switch. See MAIN SWITCH under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Test SET/RESUME switch. See SET/RESUME SWITCH under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Test brakelight switch and mounting. See BRAKELIGHT SWITCH under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Test clutch switch on M/T vehicles. See CLUTCH SWITCH under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Test gearshift lever position switch on A/T vehicles. See GEARSHIFT LEVER POSITION SWITCH under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Check cruise control unit inputs. See procedures under CONTROL UNIT INPUT TEST under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
- Check ground connection G301, located in left side of engine compartment next to windshield washer fluid reservoir. Check ground connection G201, located at right front side of engine compartment. Check ground connection G401, located behind left kick panel.
- Check the following wires for opens or loose and/or disconnected terminals. See WIRING DIAGRAM . Repair wires as necessary and recheck system operation. Check Blue/Green wire between horn relay and clockspring. Check Light Green/Red wire between cruise control unit and clockspring. Check Blue wire between cruise control unit and Ignition Control Module (ICM). Check Black/Yellow wire between cruise control unit and fuse No. 24 (15-amp), located in fuse/relay box under instrument panel. Check Light Green wire between cruise control unit and main switch. Check Gray wire between cruise control unit and brake switch. Check Orange wire between cruise control unit and Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). Check Brown/White wire between cruise control unit and actuator assembly. Check Brown/Black wire between cruise control unit and actuator assembly. Check Brown/Red wire between cruise control unit and actuator assembly. Check Pink wire between cruise control unit and clutch pedal switch (M/T) or gear position switch (A/T).
