Temperature Gauge

  1. Check for blown fuse No. 15 (10-amp). Turn ignition off. Disconnect Yellow/Green wire from sending unit. Sending unit is threaded into cylinder head. Using a jumper wire, ground sending unit wire.
CAUTION: Failure to turn ignition off before needle reaches "H" mark may result in damage to temperature gauge.
  2. Turn ignition on. Gauge needle should start moving toward "H" mark on gauge. Turn ignition off before gauge needle reaches "H" mark. If temperature gauge needle does not move, check for open in Yellow or Yellow/Green wires. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Replace temperature gauge if fuse and wiring are okay. If gauge is okay, check temperature sending unit.
