BRAKELIGHT Switch

Disconnect electrical connector from brakelight switch, located on brake pedal support. See Figure . Note brakelight switch terminal identification. See Fig 1 .
On models with cruise control, using ohmmeter, check for continuity between terminals "A" and "D" with brake pedal released. Continuity should exist.
On all models, using ohmmeter, check continuity between terminals "B" and "C" with brake pedal depressed. Continuity should exist.
If continuity is not as specified, ensure brake pedal is properly adjusted so brakelight switch has proper travel for switch operation. If proper brakelight switch travel exists, replace brakelight switch.
