TCS Light Does Not Come On

  1. Turn ignition on. If other warning lights (MIL, SRS, etc.) are on, go to step 2). If other warning lights are not on, turn ignition off. Check for blown fuse No. 13 in under-dash fuse panel. If fuse is blown, check for possible short, replace fuse and recheck as necessary. If fuse is okay, repair open in Yellow wire between under-dash fuse panel and gauge assembly.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 16-pin and 26-pin connectors from TCS control unit. Turn ignition on. Using a jumper wire, ground terminal 23A of 26-pin connector or terminal 7B of 16-pin connector. Check for TCS indicator light being on.
  3. Ground terminal 10A of 26-pin connector. Check for TCS activation light being on. Ground terminal 6A of 26-pin connector. Check for TCS switch indicator light being on.
  4. If all lights came on when terminals were grounded, go to next step. If one or more lights stayed off, check gauge assembly for bad bulb. Replace bulbs as necessary. If bulbs are okay, check appropriate circuit between TCS control unit and gauge assembly.
  5. Check for blown ABS fuse No. 2 in under-hood fuse panel and fuse No. 22 in under-dash fuse panel. If fuse(s) is blown, check for possible short, replace fuse and recheck as necessary. If fuse is okay, measure voltage between terminal 1A in 26-pin connector and ground.
  6. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in White wire between under-hood fuse panel and TCS control unit.
  7. Measure voltage between terminal 10B in 16-pin connector and ground. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Black/Yellow wire between under-hood fuse panel and TCS control unit.
  8. Turn ignition off. Check continuity between terminal 5B in 16-pin connector and ground, and between terminal 20A in 26-pin connector and ground. If continuity is not present, repair open in Brown/Black wire between TCS control unit and ground.
  9. If continuity is present, check for loose connections or intermittent opens in wiring. If no problems are found, replace TCS control unit and recheck system.
