Handling Control
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 16 other vehicles, including the 2005 Acura NSX, 2004 Acura NSX, 2003 Acura NSX-T, 2003 Acura NSX, and 2002 Acura NSX-T. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Based on signals about driving wheel and driven wheel rotational speeds, TCS control unit calculates vehicle's "yaw" rate (i.e., the turn rate of vehicle's body). Based on signals from steering angle sensor, TCS control unit also calculates yaw rate expected by driver. If difference between actual and expected yaw rates is substantial (if the direction of the car's body will exceed the driver's expected line) TCS control unit signals the throttle actuator, which closes the throttle valve, thus reducing engine power and maintaining the expected line.
