DTC P1655: SEFA/SEAF Signal Line Failure
- Perform PCM reset procedure. See PCM RESET PROCEDURE/CLEARING CODES . Turn ignition off. Start engine and test drive vehicle for several miles at various speeds. If DTC P1655 sets, go to next step. If DTC P1655 does not set, problem is intermittent, system is okay at this time. Check for poor connections or loose wires at Transmission Control Module (TCM) and PCM connectors. TCM is located under passenger's footrest, next to PCM.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM 31-pin connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and PCM 31-pin connector terminal No. 31 (Red/Blue wire). If battery voltage is not present, go to next step. If battery voltage is present, go to step 4).
- Measure voltage between ground and TCM 22-pin connector terminal No. 19 (Red/Blue wire). If battery voltage is present, repair open in Red/Blue wire between PCM and TCM. If battery voltage is not present, repair short in Red/Blue wire between PCM and TCM.
- Turn ignition off. Reconnect PCM 31-pin connector. Disconnect TCM 22-pin connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and TCM 22-pin connector terminal No. 18 (Blue/Red wire). If battery voltage is not present, go to next step. If battery voltage is present, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck. If DTCs do not reset, replace original PCM.
- Measure voltage between ground and PCM 31-pin connector terminal No. 30 (Blue/Red wire). If battery voltage is present, repair open in Blue/Red wire between PCM and TCM. If battery voltage is not present, repair short in Blue/Red wire between PCM and TCM.
