Cruise Control Actuator

  1. Disconnect cruise control actuator harness connector. Measure resistance or current at specified actuator terminals. See CRUISE CONTROL ACTUATOR VALUES  . See Fig 1 . Replace cruise control actuator if readings are not as specified.
  2. Using jumper wires, apply battery voltage to actuator terminal No. 2, and ground actuator terminal No. 3. Actuator motor should operate smoothly.
  3. Leaving jumper wires connected from step 2), apply ground to terminals No. 1 and 4. Actuator cable should move.
  4. Disconnect ground from terminals No. 1 and 4. Actuator cable should move in opposite direction of previous step. If actuator does not test as described, replace actuator vacuum pump and VSV.
