Power Door Locks & Keyless Entry System: Description: Notes
All doors can be locked or unlocked simultaneously using either front door master lock switch. Pushing master switch up will unlock all doors and pushing down will lock all doors. Turning driver's door key cylinder switch to unlock position and releasing it will unlock driver's door only. If driver's door key cylinder switch remains in unlock position for one second or more, all doors will unlock. Turning passenger's door key cylinder switch to unlock position one time will unlock all doors.
On models equipped with keyless entry system, a remote transmitter can be used to lock or unlock vehicle doors. Door locks cannot be locked with transmitter if key is in ignition. If doors are unlocked using transmitter and no door is opened within 20-30 seconds, doors will lock. Remote transmitter can also be used to unlock trunk.
Major components of the power door lock system include: power door lock control module, door lock switches, door key position switches, door lock actuators and trunk opener solenoid. On models equipped with keyless entry system, additional components include: keyless receiver unit and antenna, and keyless buzzer. See Fig 1 .
