A/T Gear Position Switch
- A/T gear position switch is mounted on driver's side of transaxle at control shaft. Raise and support vehicle. Remove exhaust pipe and catalytic converter.
- Disconnect A/T gear position switch 10-pin harness connector. Note terminal identification. See Fig 1
. Using ohmmeter, check continuity between specified terminals in relation to shift lever position. See A/T GEAR POSITION SWITCH CONTINUITY SPECIFICATIONS
table.NOTE: Check continuity while moving shift lever back and forth in free play area of each gear position. DO NOT touch push button on shift lever when checking continuity.
- If continuity is not as specified, A/T gear position switch may require adjustment. See A/T GEAR POSITION SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If correct continuity cannot be obtained by adjusting A/T gear position switch, replace A/T gear position switch.
