Section 1 (Heater System): Description

The heater system delivers fresh or recirculated air to the passenger compartment. Air passes through the heater unit and is warmed and distributed to selected passenger compartment outlets. The outlets are chosen by mode control buttons on heater control panel. The temperature control lever regulates temperature of delivered air. Blower motor is controlled by fan control lever.

To avoid injury from accidental air bag deployment, read and carefully follow all SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM procedures in AIR BAG SYSTEM SAFETY article in GENERAL SERVICING.
CAUTION:
Before removing radio or disconnecting battery, obtain anti-theft code from owner. After servicing vehicle, turn radio on. Word CODE will be displayed. Enter 5-digit code to restore radio operation.
