Wiper Motor Test

  1. Turn ignition off. Remove cap nuts and remove both wiper arms. Disconnect 5-pin wiper motor harness connector. See Fig 1 . Using fused jumper wires, connect battery voltage and ground to specified terminals of wiper motor connector (motor side). See WIPER MOTOR TEST table. Replace wiper motor if operation is not as specified.

  2. Reconnect wiper motor harness connector. Turn ignition on. Using an analog voltmeter, backprobe between terminals No. 3 and 5 of wiper motor harness connector. Operate motor at low or high speed. Voltmeter should indicate zero volts and 4 volts alternately as motor runs. Replace wiper motor if operation is not as specified.
