Wheel Speed Sensor

Wheel speed sensors are of a variable reluctance type. Sensor is mounted in close proximity to a toothed ring in the steering knuckle in front and on top of rear differential. As teeth pass by sensor head, an AC voltage is produced. Sensor signal frequency increases as ring rotation speed increases. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS.
