Front Wiper Motor

  1. Open hood. Remove wiper arms. To gain access to wiper motor connector, remove lower windshield molding, hood seal, and air scoop. Disconnect wiper motor 5-pin connector.
  2. Using a fused jumper wire, connect battery voltage to wiper motor 5-pin connector terminal "D" (Green/Black wire). Using another jumper wire, ground 5-pin connector terminal "B" (Blue wire). See Fig 1 . If wiper motor operates smoothly at low speed, go to next step. If wiper motor does not operate or does not operate smoothly, replace wiper motor. See FRONT WIPER MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Using a fused jumper wire, connect battery voltage to wiper motor 5-pin connector terminal "D" (Green/Black wire). Using another jumper wire, ground 5-pin connector terminal "A" (Blue/Yellow wire). If wiper motor operates smoothly at high speed, go to next step. If wiper motor does not operate or does not operate smoothly, replace wiper motor.
  4. Connect wiper motor 5-pin connector to wiper motor assembly. Using an analog voltmeter, backprobe between 5-pin connector terminal "E" (Blue/White wire) and terminal "C" (Black wire). Turn wiper switch to LO or HI position and measure voltage. If voltage does not alternate between zero volts and more than 4 volts, replace wiper motor.
