Troubleshooting Notes

Before starting troubleshooting, clear DTC by disconnecting CLOCK (7.5 A) fuse for ten seconds or more, and test-drive car. See Figure. Check that symptom of trouble appears again, and then troubleshoot. If problem is an intermittent problem, system does not become active after engine starts even though problem is solved.
When both EPS indicator light and A/T "D" indicator light come on, perform A/T troubleshooting first.
When customer's reported problem cannot be verified in car, ask customer about conditions when EPS indicator light came ON, then test-drive car under those conditions, if possible. If EPS indicator light does not come ON during test, check for loose connections or poor contacts at connectors by wiggling harness, etc.
The connector terminal numbers are viewed from wire side for female terminals and from terminal side for male terminals
After repair, test-drive car and check that EPS indicator light does not come ON again during test. Refer to Figure or Figure for appropriate diagnostic period.
