Preliminary Inspection

Verify customer's complaint. Before performing any testing, perform a visual inspection. Perform a functional test. If system will not arm, check for proper adjustment at all anti-theft and keyless entry system related switches. See Figure and Figure . If one switch is misadjusted or a short exists, system will not arm. If an alarm sounds for no reason, check for a misadjusted anti-theft and keyless entry system related switch. If a switch is slightly misadjusted the system may arm but can be set off by something as minor as a change in ambient temperature, bump or a vibration.
