Key Interlock Solenoid

  1. Remove lower cover from instrument panel. See LOWER COVER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Remove knee bolster.
  3. Disconnect 7-pin connector from main wire harness. See Fig 1 .
  4. Check continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to table. See Fig 1 .
  5. Check that the key cannot be removed when toe battery is connected to the No. 6 and No. 7 terminals.
    • If the key cannot be removed, the key interlock solenoid is okay.
    • If the key can be removed, replace the steering lock assembly (key interlock solenoid is not available separately).
