VTEC Solenoid Valve Test

- Disconnect harness connector from the VTEC solenoid valve.
- Measure resistance between the terminal and body ground. See Fig 1.
- If the resistance is within specifications, remove the VTEC solenoid valve/oil filter assembly (A) from oil pump, and check the VTEC solenoid valve filter (B) for clogging. If there is clogging, replace the engine oil filter and the engine oil. See Fig 2.
- If the filter is not clogged, push the VTEC solenoid valve with you finger and check its movement. If the VTEC solenoid valve is normal, see Fig 3. Check the engine oil pressure. See TESTING .
