Audio Unit Removal/Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations for the appropriate year.

Also review the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before performing repairs or service.

NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
  1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the radio and navigation system, then write down the frequencies for the radio channel presets.
  2. Remove the center panel (see DASHBOARD CENTER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  3. Remove the six mounting screws, disconnect the audio unit connectors (A), display unit connectors (B) and the antenna lead (C), then remove the audio unit (D).

  4. Remove the display unit.

  5. Install in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • Make sure the audio unit and display unit connectors are plugged in properly, and the antenna lead is connected properly.
    • Enter the anti-theft codes for the radio and navigation system, then enter the customer's radio channel presets.
