HFL Switch Test/Replacement

  1. Remove the driver's airbag (see DRIVER'S AIRBAG REPLACEMENT ).
  2. Disconnect the 6P connector (A).

  3. Remove the two screws and HFL switch (B).
  4. Measure the resistance between the No. 5 and No. 2 terminals in each switch position according to the table.

    HFL Switch 

    TERMINALS RESISTANCE CHART

    Position Resistance
    OFF About 1 kΩ
    HFL Talk button pressed About 227 Ω
    HFL Back button pressed About 47 Ω
  5. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the switch.
