    Shim Selection Formula

  13. Select the proper 60.2 mm shim from the table Follow the example below, and use the measurements you made in step 10 to 12

    (Basic Formula)

    (1) + (2) - ((3) + 0 19)= shim thickness

0.19 mm (0.007 in) middle of the standard clearance

    Standard Clearance

    0.14-0.24 mm (0.006-0.009 in)

    (For example)

    (1) = 6.12 mm (0.241 in)

    (2) = 153 mm (0.602 in)

    (3) = 19.56 mm (0.770 in)

    6.12 + 15.3 - (19.56 + 0.19) = 1.67 mm

Select the 1.60 mm shim from the table

    60.2 mm shim

    PART THICKNESS CHART

    No Thickness
    A 1 10 mm (0 043 in)
    B 1 20 mm (0 047 in)
    C 1 30 mm (0 051 in)
    D 1 40 mm (0 055 in)
    E 1 50 mm (0 059 in)
    F 1 60 mm (0 063 in)
    G 1 70 mm (0 067 in)

    NOTE:
    • You must assemble the housings within 5 minutes after applying the liquid gasket If you applied liquid gasket P/N 08718-0012, the component must be installed within 4 minutes If not, the sealing surface must be cleaned, and the liquid gasket reapplied
    • Allow the liquid gasket to cure at least 30 minutes after assembly before filling the differential with fluid
