HFL Switch Test

  1. Remove the driver's airbag (see DRIVER'S AIRBAG REPLACEMENT ).
  2. Disconnect the 20P connector (A).

  3. Measure the resistance between the No. 8 and No. 9 terminals in each switch position according to the table.

    HFL Switch 

    HFL SWITCH POSITION

    Position Resistance
    No buttons pressed About 1 k Ω
    HFL TALK button pressed About 185 Ω
    HFL BACK button pressed About 45 Ω
  4. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the switch (see STEERING WHEEL DISASSEMBLY/REASSEMBLY ).
