DTC Indicator E: An Open In The Sunlight Sensor Circuit

Disconnect the sunlight sensor 2P connector.
Disconnect climate control unit connector B (26P).
Check for continuity between the No. 19 terminal of climate control unit connector B (26P) and the No. 1 terminal of the sunlight sensor 2P connector.

Is there continuity?
1. YES - Go to step 4.
2. NO - Repair open in the wire between the climate control unit and the sunlight sensor.
Check for continuity between the No. 1 terminal of climate control unit connector B (26P) and the No. 2 terminal of the sunlight sensor 2P connector.

Is there continuity?
1. YES - Go to step 5.
2. NO - Repair open in the wire between the climate control unit and the sunlight sensor.
Reconnect the sunlight sensor 2P connector.
Reconnect climate control unit connector B (26P).
Test the sunlight sensor (see SUNLIGHT SENSOR TEST ).
Does the sunlight sensor test OK?
1. YES - Check for loose wires or poor connections at climate control unit connector B (26P) and at the sunlight sensor 2P connector. If the connections are good, substitute a known-good climate control unit, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original climate control unit.
2. NO - Replace the sunlight sensor.
