Tailgate Latch Switch Test

Open the tailgate.
Remove the tailgate lower trim panel (see TAILGATE LOWER TRIM REPLACEMENT ).
Disconnect the 2P connector (A) from the tailgate latch (B).

Check for continuity between the No. 1 and No. 2 terminals.
- With the tailgate open, there should be continuity.
- With the tailgate closed, there should be no continuity.
If the continuity is not as specified, replace the tailgate latch (see HOOD RELEASE HANDLE REPLACEMENT TAILGATE LATCH REPLACEMENT ).
