Tailgate Outer Handle Switch Test/Replacement
- Open the tailgate.
- Remove the tailgate lower trim panel (see
TAILGATE LOWER TRIM REPLACEMENT
).
- Disconnect the 3P connector (A) and remove the two bolts.

- Check for continuity between the terminals.
- There should be continuity between the No. 2 and No. 3 terminals when the switch is pressed.
- There should be no continuity between the No. 2 and No. 3 terminals when the switch is released.
- If the continuity is not as specified, replace the tailgate outer handle switch.
