Engine does not start with the remote
- Carry the remote in the vehicle, and push in the ignition knob.
- Check for the LED indication of the remote.
Does the LED blink?
YES -Go to step 3.
NO -Go to step 7.
- Push in the ignition knob five times while turning the steering slightly right and left.
Can you push in the ignition knob?
YES -Go to step 4.
NO -Go to step 8.
- Check the starter operation.
Does the starter run?
YES -Go to step 5.
NO -Check the starting system.
- Try to start the engine.
Does the engine start?
YES -Go to step 6.
NO -Go to step 10.
- Try to stop the engine.
Does the engine stop?
YES -Go to step 10.
NO -Go to the Status Log (see SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION ).
- Remove the remote batteries, then install them again.
Does the LED blink when the batteries are installed?
YES -Check for an open in these wires:
- Keyless access control unit +B1 and +B2 lines.
- GND (LG1 and LG2) lines.
NO -Replace the remote batteries, and recheck the system.
- Check the No. 7 (10 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.
Is the fuse good?
YES -Go to step 9.
NO -Replace the fuse, and recheck.
- Check the keyless access system DTCs with the HDS.
Are any DTCs indicated?
YES -Go to the indicated DTCs troubleshooting.
NO -Go to System Check (see SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION ).
- Check the immobilizer indicator lighting pattern.
Does the immobilizer indicator work normally?
YES -The keyless access system is OK at this time, check the engine system.
NO -Refer to the appropriate Symptom Troubleshooting.
