ATF Temperature Sensor Test/Replacement
- Raise the vehicle on a lift, or apply the parking brake, block the rear wheels, and raise the front of the vehicle Make sure it is securely supported
- Remove the left front wheel
- Remove the splash shield
- Remove the drain plug (A), and drain the transmission fluid (ATF)
- Reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer (B)
- Do the battery removal procedure (see BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION )
- Disconnect PCM connectors A, B, and C, then remove the PCM (see ECM/PCM REPLACEMENT )
- Remove the battery base (see step 9 on INTAKE AIR RESONATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Remove the intake air duct (see step 2 on REMOVAL )
- Remove the ATF dipstick, and remove the bolts securing the ATF cooler line (A) Remove the harness clamp (B), then remove the ATF dipstick guide tube (C).
- Remove the shift solenoid valve cover (A), the dowel pins (B), and the gasket (C)
- Disconnect the shift solenoid wire harness connector (A), then remove the shift solenoid wire harness (B) from the transmission housing
- Measure the ATF temperature sensor resistance between shift solenoid wire harness connector terminals No 6 and No 7
Standard. 50 Ω -25 kΩ
- If the resistance is within the standard, install the shift solenoid wire harness and a new O-ring in the transmission housing, then Go to step 16
- If the resistance is out of standard, Go to step 14
- Disconnect the shift solenoid valve connectors from the shift solenoid valves Then replace the ATF temperature sensor/shift solenoid wire harness assembly (F), and the O-ring (G) with new onesNOTE: The ATF temperature sensor is not available separately from the shift solenoid wire harness
- Connect tie shift solenoid valve connectors
- Install a new gasket, the dowel pins, and the shift solenoid valve cover
- Install a new O-ring on the ATF dipstick guide tube, then install the guide tube with the bolt
- Check the connector for rust, dirt, or oil, clean or repair if necessary Then connect the connector securely
- Secure the ATF cooler line with the bolts
- Install the harness clamp on its clamp bracket
- Install the battery base (see step 9 on INTAKE AIR RESONATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Connect PCM connector A, B, and C, then install the PCM (see ECM/PCM REPLACEMENT )
- Install the intake air duct (see step 9 on INSTALLATION )
- Do the battery installation procedure (see BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION )
- Install the splash shield.
- Install the left front wheel
- Refill the transmission with ATF (see ATF REPLACEMENT )
