SERVICE INFORMATION
Whenever you replace the audio-navigation unit, you have to transfer the original HDD (hard disc drive) and install the new faceplate onto the new unit. To avoid damaging the faceplate connector when you reassemble the unit, follow these instructions:
- Remove the audio-navigation unit from the vehicle following the S/M procedure.
- Remove the faceplate from the original audio-navigation unit following the S/M procedure.
- Transfer the HDD from the original audio-navigation unit to the new one following the S/M procedure.
- Remove the foam pad insert from the remanufactured audio-navigation unit shipping box.
- Place the new faceplate on the foam pad with the display facing down.
- Take note of the connector position on the faceplate and the audio-navigation unit. The connector can be easily damaged if it's not aligned or the components are forced together.
- Align the connector using the three tab locations shown. Once you have the tabs aligned, gently press down to install the audio-navigation unit. If the components don't go together easily, don't force them. Just lift the audio-navigation unit and try again.
- Install the four screws to secure the faceplate to the audio-navigation unit.
- Reinstall the audio-navigation unit.
