Trunk Lid Latch Replacement

NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Take care not to kink the opener cables.
  1. Remove these items (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - TRUNK AREA ):
    • Trunk rear trim panel
    • Trunk side trim panel, right side
  2. Remove the bolts, then remove the trunk inside lever (A) from the body.

  3. Disconnect the trunk lid opener cables (A, B) from the cable fasteners (C).
    NOTE: If the cable fasteners are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.

  4. Disconnect the actuator connector (A), then detach the connector clip (B). Remove the trunk lid opener cable (C) from the clip (D) on the body.

  5. Remove the bolts (E), and loosen the bolt (F).
  6. Pull the trunk lid latch (A) away to release the bolt (B) from the hole (C) in the body, then remove the latch.

  7. Disconnect the trunk lid opener cable (A) from the cable fastener (B).
    NOTE: If the cable fastener is damaged or stress-whitened, replace it with a new one.

  8. Install the latch in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
