How to Check the HandsFreeLink System Condition

NOTE:
  • Check the vehicle battery condition first (see BATTERY TEST ).
  • Make sure the audio system or the navigation system anti-theft code is entered.
  • The self-diagnostic function can only be initiated while the HFL is in its idle state.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
  2. Press and hold the HANG-UP button (A) or the HFL BACK button (B) for more than 5 seconds.

  3. The HFL system starts the self-diagnosis, the following will occurs:
    • If the HFL system is OK, and there are no HFL DTCs, the HFL system says, "The HFT is OK."
    • If there are any HFL DTCs stored, the HFL system says, "The HFT is NG."

The self-diagnosis ends if the HFL system returns to its idle state.
