DTC B1927: MTR CONT Signal Error

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B- CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B- CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A ).
  1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
  2. Disconnect the electric steering lock 12P connector.
  3. Measure the voltage between body ground and electric steering lock 12P connector terminal No. 6.

    Is there battery voltage? 

    YES  - Go to step 4.

    NO  - Go to step  8.

  4. Disconnect keyless access control unit connector A (36P).
  5. Measure the voltage between body ground and keyless access control unit connector A (36P) terminal No. 27.

    Is there battery voltage? 

    YES  - Go to step 6.

    NO  - Replace the keyless access control unit (see KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL UNIT  ).

  6. Disconnect the remote slot control unit 40P connector.
  7. Measure the voltage between body ground and remote slot control unit 40P connector terminal No. 12.

    Is there battery voltage? 

    YES  - Repair a short to power in the wire.

    NO  - Replace the remote slot control unit (see CONTROL UNIT INPUT TEST  ).

  8. Reconnect the electric steering lock 12P connector.
  9. Disconnect keyless access control unit connector A (36P).
  10. Measure the voltage between body ground and keyless access control unit connector A (36P) terminal No. 27.

    Is there battery voltage? 

    YES  - Replace the electric steering lock (see STEERING LOCK REPLACEMENT ).

    NO  - Go to step 11.

  11. Reconnect keyless access control unit connector A (36P).
  12. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
  13. Do this procedure 10 times: Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF, ACC, ON, and OFF mode.
  14. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC B1927 indicated? 

    YES  - Substitute a known- good remote slot control unit. If the symptom goes away, replace the original remote slot control unit (see CONTROL UNIT INPUT TEST  ). If not, substitute a known- good keyless access control unit. If the symptom goes away, replace the original keyless access control unit (see KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL UNIT  ). If not, replace the electric steering lock (see STEERING LOCK REPLACEMENT ).

    NO  - Go to step 15.

  15. Insert the remote into the remote slot.
  16. Do this procedure 10 times: Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF, ACC, ON, and OFF mode.
  17. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC B1927 indicated? 

    YES  - Substitute a known- good remote slot control unit. If the symptom goes away, replace the original remote slot control unit (see CONTROL UNIT INPUT TEST  ). If not, substitute a known- good keyless access control unit. If the symptom goes away, replace the original keyless access control unit (see KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL UNIT  ). If not, replace the electric steering lock (see STEERING LOCK REPLACEMENT ).

    NO  - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.
