SERVICE INFORMATION
EDITOR'S NOTE: This article replaces "Transfer the HDD When Replacing the Audio-Navigation Unit," issued in March 2010 .
In 2009, we introduced our second-generation hard disc drive (HDD)-based navigation system. The HDD has all the map and point-of-interest (POI) data, the navigation and audio system software, your client's settings, and his or her saved music and photos.
If you're replacing an audio-navigation unit, make sure you transfer the HDD to the replacement unit. Replacement units don't come with them. For complete instructions on HDD removal and installation, see the applicable electronic service manual.
- '10-12 MDX see HDD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
- '09-12 TL see HDD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
- '11-12 TSX see HDD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
- '10-12 ZDX see HDD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
If you forget to transfer the HDD, you'll see this error message when you plug in the replacement unit:
