Center Console Removal/Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ) and the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or service.
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the front seat, the dashboard, or the related parts.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Remove the front seat belt lower anchor from the seat, and remove the seat mounting bolts (see FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure (see BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ), then wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
- Remove these items:
- Front seats, both sides (see FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Center console panel (see CENTER CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Center console rear trim (see CENTER CONSOLE REAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Passenger's Dashboard Undercover (see GLOVE BOX DAMPER REPLACEMENT )
- Remove the screws securing the center console (A).
- Remove the driver's center console trim (A).
- Start at the rear area, detach the clips by pulling the trim.
- Pull up the console to release the guide pin (B).
- With seat ventilation: Disconnect the seat ventilation control unit connector (C).
- Remove the passenger's center console trim (A).
- Start at the rear area, detach the clips by pulling the trim.
- With navigation: Disconnect the HandsFreeLink control unit connector (B).
- From driver's side, disconnect the console subharness connector (A).
- Without navigation: From passenger's side, disconnect the USB adapter connector (A) and the USB main harness connector (B). Detach the harness clips (C).
- With navigation: From passenger's side, disconnect the USB adapter connector (A).
- Remove the bolts securing the center console (A).
- Detach the clips by pulling out the center console (A) from both sides, then pull up the console to remove it.
- Install the console in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
- Push the clips into place securely.
- Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure (see BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ).
