Key Interlock Solenoid Test

  1. Remove these items:
  2. Disconnect the steering lock 6P connector (A).

  3. Insert the ignition key in the key cylinder, then turn the ignition switch to ACCESSORY (I).
  4. Connect the positive battery terminal to steering lock assembly connector terminal No. 4, and connect the negative battery terminal to terminal No. 3. Check that the ignition key cannot be turned to LOCK (0). Disconnect the battery terminals, and check that the key can be turned to the LOCK (0) position and removed from the cylinder.
  5. If the key interlock solenoid works improperly, replace the ignition key cylinder/steering lock (see CHECK OF LOCK LEVER FORCE ).
