Brake Assist Control

Overview

The brake assist control shortens the braking distance by increasing the driver's applied brake force during emergency braking.

Control

The VSA modulator-control unit constantly monitors brake operation through the pressure sensor. If the pedal stroke speed and pedal stroke amount exceed the threshold, it is considered to be emergency braking. When emergency braking is determined to be taking place, the VSA modulator-control unit increases braking force compared to normal braking and shortens the braking distance.
