DTC P0807, P0808

DTC P0807  : Two-Way Clutch Actuator Valve Stroke Sensor A Circuit Low

DTC P0808  : Two-Way Clutch Actuator Valve Stroke Sensor A Circuit High

General Description

GHH330589Courtesy of HONDA, U.S.A., INC.
GHH330590Courtesy of HONDA, U.S.A., INC.

The transmission control module (TCM) judges the two-way clutch position by the output voltage from the two-way clutch actuator valve stroke sensor. The TCM monitors the two-way clutch actuator valve stroke sensor output voltage, and when the output voltage is a specified value for a specified duration, the TCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type

Execution Continuous
Sequence None
Duration 0.4 second or more
DTC Type One drive cycle, MIL on, shift position indicator blinks

Enable Conditions

Condition Minimum Maximum
12 volt battery voltage [Battery Voltage] 9.3 V -
IG1 terminal voltage 10 V -
Vehicle ON mode
Other No abnormality in sensor supply (VCC1)
[ ]: HDS Parameter

Malfunction Threshold

DTC: P0807

The two-way clutch actuator valve stroke sensor A output voltage is less than 0.094 V for at least 0.4 second.

DTC: P0808

The two-way clutch actuator valve stroke sensor A output voltage is more than 4.905 V for at least 0.4 second.

Possible Cause

NOTE:

The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.

  • Solenoid wire harness failure
  • Valve body assembly failure (two-way clutch actuator valve stroke sensor)
  • TCM internal circuit failure

Confirmation Procedure

Operating Condition

Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

With the HDS

None.

Diagnosis Details

Conditions for setting the DTC

When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on, the shift position indicator blinks, and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the TCM memory.

Conditions for clearing the DTC

The shift position indicator comes off by turning the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command.
