Starter System Circuit Troubleshooting
NOTE:
- Air temperature must be between 59-100 deg.F (15-38 deg.C) during this procedure.
- The 12 volt battery must be in good condition and fully charged.
- If you cannot enter the HDS [System Selection Menu] during troubleshooting, go to the keyless access system symptom troubleshooting; "Cannot select ON mode with keyless access and with the keyless remote touching the engine start/stop switch" - Refer to: Keyless Access System Symptom Troubleshooting - Immobilizer/security indicator blinks or Keyless Access System Symptom Troubleshooting - Cannot select ON mode with keyless access, but can select ON mode with the keyless remote touching the engine start/stop switch or Keyless Access System Symptom Troubleshooting - The doors will not unlock or lock with the keyless remote, but will unlock or lock with the door outer handles or Keyless Access System Symptom Troubleshooting - Cannot select ON mode with keyless access and with the keyless remote touching the engine start/stop switch or Keyless Access System Symptom Troubleshooting - The doors will not unlock or lock with the door outer handle touch sensors, but will unlock or lock with the keyless remote or Keyless Access System Symptom Troubleshooting - The engine starts but stalls immediately or Keyless Access System Symptom Troubleshooting - All the doors will not lock and unlock .
- After the inspection, you must reset the PCM - Refer to: PCM Reset or PCM Update . Otherwise, the PCM will continue to stop the fuel injectors from operating.
