DTC Troubleshooting: P00B3(3.0L Engine): Inspection

ECT Sensor 2 Inspection 

Test Procedure 

Unit output voltage inspection

• Preparation
• • ECT sensor 2 2P connector: disconnected

• Procedure
• • Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
  • Confirm the HDS [ECT Sensor 2 Voltage].

• Normal Conditions
• • USA and Canada models: HDS [ECT Sensor 2 Voltage] value is more than 0.17 V  .
  • Mexico models: HDS [ECT Sensor 2 Voltage] value is more than 0.01 V  .

Results 

• If it is normal, there is a problem with ECT sensor 2.
• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with other related components.

TW2_SENSOR shorted Wire Inspection 

NOTICE: 

Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
• • PCM connector B (72P): disconnected
  • ECT sensor 2 2P connector: disconnected
• Procedure
• • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

    Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.

	TW2_SENSOR shorted to ground inspection	OFF		Not shorted

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

PCM Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with the PCM.
