ECT Sensor 2 Inspection
NOTE:
Since there is no direct method to test the component itself, troubleshooting is performed on the related components.
Test Procedure
Unit output voltage inspection
- Preparation
-
- ECT sensor 2 2P connector: disconnected
- Procedure
-
- Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- Confirm the HDS [ECT Sensor 2 Voltage].
- Normal Conditions
-
- USA and Canada models: HDS [ECT Sensor 2 Voltage] value is more than 0.17 V .
- Mexico models: HDS [ECT Sensor 2 Voltage] value is more than 0.01 V .
Results
- If it is normal, there is a problem with ECT sensor 2.
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with other related components.
TW2_SENSOR shorted Wire Inspection
NOTICE:
Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.
Test Procedure
- Preparation

- PCM connector B (72P): disconnected
- ECT sensor 2 2P connector: disconnected
- Procedure
-
- Perform the inspection according to the following table.
Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.
- Perform the inspection according to the following table.

Results
- If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.
PCM Inspection
Test Procedure
- If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.
Results
- There is a problem with the PCM.
